slash_las. For the prompt: "Freedom Is An Illusion".
"I will never lie to you. I'll never trick you. But you will let me in."
And Lucifer hadn't. Not directly. All his life, Sam had been followed by evil. Surrounded by it. In the form of teachers, girlfriends, and best friends. But they were all Yellow Eye's demons. All sent to nudge him in the 'right' path, to keep him straying too far for their plans. To make sure he ended up in the arms of the Devil.
"Because it had to be you. It always had to be you."
Even at Stanford. When he'd finally gotten away to be his own man. To get out from under John's thumb and Dean's shadow. Where he could have friends and homework and a place to stay longer than a week or a month at a time. Even that wasn't what he'd thought.
The more he pulled away, the more he struggled to be better, the easier it was for the Devil to suck him in. To lure him with sweet words and soft lips and gentle caresses and promises of paradise if he'd just give in.
I will find you. And when I do, you will let me in.
Sam knew now, as Lucifer's hand curled into his hair and he didn't feel to urge to stop the angel from tilting his head for that better angle. Arched into the fingertips tracing ancient, unknowable symbols into his skin... No matter what he did, he'd never truly been free, but feeling the Devil's lips against his, feeling the weight of his vessel press him down - even if it was only a dream - he knew he would fall for the deception again. He would always end up here.

on 2011-05-30 02:18 am (UTC)I just love the idea of Sam never having a choice and Lucifer being the only real constant in Sam's life even if he wasn't there per se the whole time. Love the thought that this is what was meant for Sam, to belong to Lucifer. (Not sure what that says about me but, eh.)
^_^ Lovely job!
